Blog #3 - One New Man

Pastor’s Blog

One New Man

Below – you will find an email I sent to one of my former members who was requesting a ‘transfer of membership’ to another church – a “Messianic” church. I will probably break this blog down in two parts because it may be rather lengthy, especially with all my comments. Be open to constructive criticism before you judge what I say. And, don’t let man’s thinking or man’s tradition guide your reaction, please! Of course, names are removed to protect everyone (except me). Suffice it to say that I will only refer to this individual as “Sister”. So much deception is coming to the body of Christ these days. It seems to me that Christians are so gullible today. One reason for that is because they are so religiously brainwashed instead of being New Testament taught, as my Spiritual Father used to say. But, in this story, that is not the case. This individual was taught by me for many years to stay with the New Testament and not build her life or beliefs on the Old Testament. This is but one example. It teaches us how so many can get caught up in the “fads” of Christianity today. But in reality, it is not Christianity but error that has crept in and even though believers mean well – they may find themselves (scripturally) fighting the purposes of God and what Jesus came to earth to do in his death, burial, and resurrection.

Scripture Reading: Eph. 4:8, 11-16

Eph. 2:13-19 Dear Sister,

I received your email. Not shocked. Matter of fact – I already knew it. Three days prior to your email the Lord spoke to me about it. Isn’t that amazing? Wonder why he did? Do you know? I do. I am a Pastor (Shepherd) and a spiritual Father. Who is your spiritual Father now or do you have one? In the natural world we can only have one. The Apostle Paul said to the church that we can have many teachers but not many Fathers. I can handle it when the Lord sends people on specific missions of ministry. They may have to leave the area. In this case it is not so and I feel a little dishonored by you just sending me an email and not sitting down with me and telling me face to face. I must say that I now stand in doubt concerning you and your spiritual walk with Christ. You said you want your membership transferred to a “Messianic” church. You said you “wanted to learn more about your Jewish heritage”. Dear Sister, I mean no harm but you don’t have a Jewish heritage! I was not going to reply to your email because you should know better than this. Then a few days after your email, I was awakened around 5:00 a.m. The Lord began dealing with me about this and scripture after scripture began coming to me. But, there is more to the story. I must obey my heavenly calling, I really must say that you cannot be so blind in this or is it just something you just want to do? Sister, don’t you see that this is the book of Galatians all over again. “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that you should not obey the truth… Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” (Message Translation: Did someone put a hex on you? Have you taken leave of your senses? Something crazy has happened, for it is obvious that you no longer have the crucified Jesus in clear focus in your live…It was all laid out beforehand in scripture that God would set things right with non-Jews by faith). Listen Sister, you were never a Jew. Paul told the Galatians that they had fallen from grace. This is frustrating to the grace of God. (Gal. 2:21) Hold on, it gets better. Jesus told me three days before you sent your request for a transfer of membership, that there wasn’t any such a thing as a “Messianic” church or a Jewish church. He told me (us) He didn’t die to start a Messianic church or Jewish church no more that He died to start a white church, black church, Hispanic church, or African church, a Baptist church, a Pentecostal, Lutheran, Catholic, etc., etc., etc. He told me that all Jewish churches are out of His will. Why? It is division and sectarianism. Anything that divides the body of Christ is wrong. There are no Baptist, Methodist, or Pentecostals in His body as far as He is concerned. There is no Jew or Gentile, either (Gal 3:29-29). There is only Christ and he died to make “ONE NEW MAN”. Wouldn’t it be strange for Jesus to come and die for us, in order to make us one, and then turn around and segregate us. He would then be trying to build again that which He tore down which was the middle wall of partition between us. I’m sure these people you have affiliated yourself with have a zeal for God but it’s not “according to knowledge”. As the Apostle Paul says, “They zealously affect you but not well.”

Alright, I will stop here and continue next time with the remainder of the story. Are you intrigued, yet? Ephesians 4 teaches us that God set teachers in the church. I wonder Why? Do you reckon that one reason would be to reel us back in when we go off and do something religious and miss His plan for our lives? Perhaps.

See you next time
