The Letter

The Letter

This months blog comes from a letter I received from a very good friend and missionary of 51 years - Terry Mize. It comes at a time I needed answers. I have lost so many in our church because I taught the truth - which for some reason they couldn’t handle it:

Dear Jim and Patsy,

I see many posts on Facebook and Twitter from Christians and even Preachers saying that the church should not be involved in Politics and should just keep our head down and our mouths shut.

As a missionary for 51 years I have seen this fallacy in nations around the world and of course in America in the Amish and Mennonite communities. Don’t vote, don’t celebrate Holidays I.e… Christmas, Easter, Fourth of July, and even birthdays. Of course, this is not Bible and even history does not bare this out.

In the USA, the church has always been in the forefront of keeping the nation on track and keeping the political playing field in line with the Bible and Judeo-Christian principles. The term Judeo-Christian became prevalent during the middle of the 20th century in the U.S. to link the broader principles of Judeo-Christian ethics such as the dignity of human life, adherence to the Abrahamic covenant, common decency, and support of traditional family values.

During the revolutionary war to win our independence from England, King George said he was much more afraid of the black robed regiment than he was of the continental army. The black robed regiment he referred to was of course the Preachers, the clergy, the ministers of the church, who wore black robes to preach in on Sundays and then after service removed their robes revealing their continental army uniform and guns and telling the congregation he was off to battle and asked who would join him!

Until the church realizes it has a civic duty, we may never get America back.

Daniel O Conner said in 1829 “Nothing is politically right which is morally wrong,” and Benjamin Franklin said, “Resistance to tyranny is obedience to God.”

The rise of liberal progressivism and socialism virtually mirrors the declining political role of churches and church leaders. As only 28% of the church voted in this last midterm elections. I lay blame of all that has gone on since then at the feet of the church; the government shutdown, the lack of building the wall, the terrible gridlock in congress, the heinous abortion law in New York that allows murdering babies in and out of the womb. Etc…

As I have said many ties, if the church would turn out and vote, we could control the white house, the senate and the house, the court house, the school house and our house.

Alexis de Tocqueville, French diplomat, political scientist and historian, best known for his work; “Democracy in America,” wrote in 1835;

“I sought for the greatness and genius of America in the commodious harbors and her ample rivers - and it was not there… in her fertile fields and boundless forests and it was not there… in her rich mines and vast world commerce - and it was not there… in her democratic congress and her matchless Constitution - and it was not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did, I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.”

Wow! I have preached that for years along with my deep concern of America’s decay. We can only be great if we are good! Therefore the CHURCH must be BOLDLY GOOD in our final hours of history!

My heart is broken as I watched Hilary Clinton and governor Cuomo and the Democrats in congress led by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer literally cheer, laugh, give high fives, applaud and generally party and yuk it up as the heinous and barbaric law was passed last week giving the grim reaper and the demon god Molech the legal right to murder babies in the womb at any stage and to murder babies born and alive and healthy for as much as an hour after birth. Killing, murdering a live healthy baby in America! Can you imagine? We can only be great if we are good!

If a lawmaker is forced to vote for abortion or even if they believe in abortion; wouldn’t it be with a heavy heart, with tears, with a seriousness of what they are voting for…ending the life of an innocent human child? Certainly not with hilarity, with joy, with high fives and laughter. It is enough to make Heaven weep!

Here is an excerpt from Jackie’s best-selling book, Supernatural Childbirth. “You don’t find miscarriage or abortion in the Bible. It was not and is not today, the will of God for you to lose your baby. God wants you and your baby healthy, whole, and prosperous, spiritually, physically, mentally, and financially. God is a good God” JM
